Choices That Matter (Taglish)

If we’re looking for perfection in this imperfect world, then we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment every time!

Walang perfect na organization. Walang perfect na business establishment or business model. Walang perfect na school. Walang perfect na church community. Walang perfect na country club. Walang perfect na social media group. Walang perfect na barkada group. Walang perfect na pamilya. Walang perfect na relationship. Kasi walang perfect na tao.

Everything (and every one of us as individuals) has both good and bad sides. Nasa bawat isa na sa atin kung saang side tayo magfo-focus – sa good side ba or sa bad side ng bagay or tao. Kasi aminin man natin o sa hindi, kahit gaano pa kaganda ang isang bagay (or even experience), meron at meron tayong makikitang negative about it. Pareho din sa tao. Kahit gaano pa kabait ang isang tao, if we examine that person’s life closely (consider yourself, for example) may makita at makita tayong negative about that person.

So the decision is nasa bawat isa na sa atin every time we look at things or deal with people.

“Am I going to focus more on the good side of things (or people) or sa negative side?”

And nasa iyo ang desisyon based on your intentions, needs, motives, and/or goals sa buhay. Di ba tama naman ako to assume that we base our decisions on those things (at iba pang factors I didn’t mention)?

But then again, dapat lagi nating tandaan na walang perpektong bagay o tao sa mundo. We will live a miserable, sad life kung lagi tayong naghahanap ng perfection dito sa mundong binubuo ng imperfect people.

Kaya mahalagang alam natin kung ano ba talaga ang mga bagay or kung sino ba talaga ang mga tao that matter most sa buhay natin. We accept their imperfections kasi mahalaga sila sa atin. We don’t just dismiss or abandon them kasi we value their contributions sa buhay natin, malaki man o maliit.

It would be great di ba kung may ability tayo to do that? But we don’t.

So anong point ng post na ito? Allow me to give you 3 things to think about:

1. Focus on the positive side of things or people; again, based on how you assess the situation. Kung may panganib na involve, then, of course, ibang usapan na iyon.

2. Evaluate your life. What are your goals in life? Why are you doing what you’re doing now? Why are you with the people you chose to become part of your life or continuously choosing to be part of your life?

3. Live at the moment and entrust tomorrow to the One who sees it – God. Stop worrying about the future kasi hindi mo naman hawak kung anong mangyayari bukas. Just give your best in whatever you do now para walang regrets later. Sabi nga di ba, “Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa.” Do your part diligently and you will reap the reward. Be lazy and irresponsible and you will suffer the consequences.

To end this long post now (if umabot ka pa dito and if you did, thanks for sticking with me), here are a few verses to ponder upon, all quoted from the NASB1995 version:

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” Lamentations‬ ‭3:24‬ ‭‬‬

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” Psalms‬ ‭32:8‬

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-8‬ ‭

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-7‬

“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? …But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew‬ ‭6:27, 33-34‬

Think Again

If you believe that the universe controls your life, think again. Think about WHO created the universe.

God did. HE is the one who has control over everything, including the universe, and He loves you with a love nobody could ever possibly give.

God created the universe, so how can the universe care for you more than the way God can?

God, not the universe, gave His only Son to die for you. God, not the universe, loves you unconditionally!

The question is: will you accept His love through His Son, Jesus?
